Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Picture

The Healing Our Heroes program at the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute supports veterans by assisting with payments for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments.  Many veterans have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Post Concussive Syndrome (PCS).  Studies have been conducted using HBOT as an alternative therapy to medication.  These studies have shown that patients receiving these treatments had a dramatic increase in cognitive abilities, improved recovery in motor skills and were able to decrease their anti-depressant medication intake.

Broomfield American Legion Post 58 and Auxiliary Unit 58 are dedicated to helping the Institute provide these services to veterans free of charge.  We are actively seeking donations for HBOT.

Post 58/Unit 58 also participates in providing a weekly dinner for the veteran patients at the HBOT Center, as well as driving them to and from the Denver International Airport. For more information or to learn how you can help please contact us.

FLAG
Retirement

RESOLVED, By The American Legion in National Convention assembled in New York City, September 20-23, 1937, that the ritual submitted herewith be adopted for use by The American Legion and that it be made the official ceremony for the destruction of unserviceable American Flags and to be included as such in the Manual of Ceremonies, Revised, of The American Legion.

The purpose of The American Legion in adopting this ceremony was to encourage proper respect for the Flag of the United States and to provide for disposal of unserviceable flags in a dignified manner. Resolution No. 373, approved by the National Convention of The American Legion meeting in Chicago, Illinois, September 18-20, 1944, re-emphasized the purpose of proper public Flag disposal ceremonies and encouraged greater use of this ceremony by The American Legion.

Have an American Flag that is no longer serviceable?   Contact the American Legion Post 58 at [email protected] to have a Legion representative pick up your flag for proper disposal.
